I would like to be able to lock the playhead to one of three fixed positions on the timeline: Beginning, Middle, or End. For me locking the playhead in the middle while editing would be a great help.

For me it’s a matter for convenience. It’s easier to control the playback when the playhead is locked in the middle. When the playhead is all the way at the end I can’t see how much is left and what’s going after.
