Feedback after a few days of use

I haven’t used it a lot, but FocuSee has been useful to me so far. However, there’s still many little issues that, once fixed, would make the experience a lot better. So far, these are things I’ve struggled with: The export stops without any notifications if my screen goes black (battery savings) Custom shortcuts don’t work properly for pausing/stopping the recording The default preset does not get saved from one session to the next I keep getting the same hints every time I finish recording and there is no setting to stop them. I don’t like having to read them and click them over and over again. Here are a few improvements I’d love to have in this app: I wish I could adjust manual zoom coordinates with the arrow keys, instead of having to re-click for small adjustments I wish I could choose the list/range of keyboard shortcuts FocuSee captures, instead of having to hide tens of instances of capitalization in the editing timeline It would be nice to be able to hide the cursor after it’s been standing still for a while I wish I could choose the quality and FPS of the recording before the export Choosing my own gradient colors for the background would be nice I hope you find my points constructive and I’m looking forward to better recording and editing sessions with your app!

Suggestions for Enhanced Recording and Editing Workflow

Dear FocuSee Team, First and foremost, I want to express how impressed I am with FocuSee. It's incredibly user-friendly, and I am particularly satisfied with the powerful zoom effects, which were exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for developing such a fantastic tool! To make FocuSee even more effective and streamline the workflow, I have two key suggestions based on my experience: 1. Ability to Move Recording Area During Recording: Currently, once recording begins, the recording field remains fixed. It would be extremely helpful if users could move the recording area (or window) around the screen during an active recording. This feature would allow for more dynamic and continuous demonstrations, where the focus needs to shift to different parts of the desktop without the need to stop and restart the recording repeatedly. 2. Continuous Insertion of Subsequent Recordings into the Same Timeline: When a recording is completed and the user proceeds to the edit screen, it would be highly beneficial if any subsequent new recordings could be automatically inserted into the same project timeline (e.g., appended to the end of the previous clip). This would significantly streamline the creation of longer tutorials or multi-part presentations, eliminating the manual effort of importing and arranging multiple individual clips after each recording session. I believe these two enhancements would greatly contribute to FocuSee's already excellent user experience and efficiency. Thank you for considering my feedback. Best regards,

Transcription-Based Video Editing for Faster Workflow

Dear Focusee Team, I would like to request the addition of a transcription-based video editing feature to Focusee. This feature would allow users to edit their videos directly through text transcriptions, making the editing process much faster and more intuitive. Below are some suggested details for how this feature could work, inspired by the workflow of tools like Tella: Automatic Transcriptions: Once a video is uploaded or recorded, Focusee would automatically generate a transcription of the video's audio. This should be accurate, with support for multiple languages, to cater to a wide range of users. Text-Based Editing: Users could edit their videos by interacting with the transcript. For example: Deleting specific sentences or words in the text would automatically cut the corresponding segment in the video. Rearranging sentences in the transcription timeline could change the order of the video clips seamlessly. Adding notes or text could integrate subtitles or captions directly. Highlighting and Click-to-Navigate: The video player would highlight the transcription in real-time during playback, allowing users to click directly on any word or section of the transcript to jump to that part of the video. Filler Word/Silence Removal: An option to automatically detect and remove filler words like "um," "ah," and long silences from the video by selecting them in the transcript. Export and Customization: Enable exporting edited transcripts or embedding video subtitles. Users should have control over the style and layout of captions for branding and accessibility. Collaborative Editing: The feature could support collaborative workflows by enabling teams to leave comments and make edits on the transcription, streamlining the review process. This feature would dramatically improve the efficiency of content creators, educators, and businesses who need to produce polished videos quickly. I hope you find this idea valuable and look forward to seeing Focusee continue to innovate. Thank you for your attention!

Change the darkening of areas that are not recorded

I often record on a large, high-resolution screen. I place the recording area on the right, and on the left I place the files I need and a notebook in which I write the entire plan. Also, I place windows of other programs, which, when the moment comes, I simply transfer to the recording area. So during recording, all the files and stuff are in front of my eyes for convenience + everything is recorded and it turns out much better, since everything is at hand and at the same time unnecessary information does not fall into the recorded area. During recording, the unscripted area is heavily darkened, which makes it difficult to read my notes and work with the area that is off the record. It would be nice if this shadowing could be changed or removed altogether, some kind of orange frame would be enough for me to orient myself, maybe flashing during recording. It would be nice if there was an alternative to heavily darkening areas that are not being recorded. I would be very grateful if such functionality appeared.
